Some universities and colleges in North Carolina include: Duke University, The University of North Carolina (more than one location), North Carolina State University, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. North Carolina is also home to some major league sports franchises such as the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, and the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats. NASCAR also finds its self at home in North Carolina with the majority of the teams on the circuit based in the state.
